The simplest way I can put it is this.

if the structure goes beyond 2 tiers, it is an MLM (Multi Level Marketing) plan.

The affiliate marketing model does not go beyond to levels. The second level is only for a broker that wants to manage a team.

The affiliate marketing model is really no different than the insurance or the real estate model where there are agents and brokers. A broker would manage multiple agents. The affiliate agents promote the product or service directly to the consumer or end-user.

if it seems too complicated as to how you get paid, it’s probably a multi level type scheme with multiple percentage payouts.
