Here is how it pays to be selling digital advertising to businesses.
Once you learn how to sell digital advertising your leads are almost endless. The challenge is in selling online advertising that actually works and provides an ROI (Return On Investment) for the customer. Getting results is not that easy. Even the top digital advertising agencies are challenged with getting actual results. There is no shortage of digital advertising companies on the internet, but you will be hard-pressed to find a digital advertising agency that is willing to back up their “data” and “stats” with getting actual sales or even traffic through the door.
Fluff is not Enough
I’m sure you have seen people put out their charts and graphs and showing all these clicks, likes, followers, views. However, do these metrics actually result in putting money in the bank. The short answer is usually not.
The Internet has shown us the reality of what impressions are, and if they actually result in cash sales. Imagine a billboard on the freeway, it will get hundreds of thousands of “impression“ or views, but how many of these people actually walk through the door? Granted, billboard advertising is actually more for awareness, but here’s the catch for the online world. A billboard on the Internet, is constantly moving whereas the billboard on the freeway actually stays in one place. Trying to make an impression with a moving target is a real challenge on the Internet, especially when there are literally hundreds of thousands of other people competing for the same dealership.
So then, what is the solution?
In my opinion, it is blogging and having your own website. Every time you do a blog post such as this one, it is like owning a piece of Internet real estate. It is out on the Internet propagating its way around, waiting for someone to find it that has an interest in the topic that is on the blog post page.
As an example, you are on this page, because you are looking for ways to make money or you want to start a digital marketing company. I would assume that it is you want to make money. Otherwise, why would you want to start a digital marketing company?
How to make money online.
It is also my opinion, that the best way to make money online, is selling someone else’s product or service. You do this as an affiliate marketer. As an affiliate marketer, you do not need to warehouse products or do any shipping. You are selling someone else’s product, and they are responsible for the shipping. When you make a sale, you get a commission.
